Make that call. Volunteer. Make a difference. Be  the change you want to see happen.

If you are interested in volunteering for any of the organizations listed below and want to learn more about them, visit the Local Resources page.

We need volunteers for our "Pet Lover's Party in the Park."  There are many opportunities, from collecting raffle prizes before the event, to running a game booth during the event.  Please contact us for more info.  Some of the jobs require some lifting, but there is enough to do that this is not a requirement since there are so many opportunities to volunteer available.

And there are other events throughout the year, so please call!

Pro-Bone-O  (541) 607-8089

Food and Non-Vet Materials - Like to contact people and offer them an opportunity to help a fantastic organization? Coordination? Packaging? Inventory? This group is still in the planning, brainstorming stage. You would work on gathering, packaging and distributing food at clinics, setting up and collecting donations from area stores

Presentations - Do you enjoy organizing events? Public speaking? Schmoozing? Creating first-class presentations? Then this is the opportunity for you! We are looking for people to help contact agencies, give presentations about who we are and quite frankly, to just get the word out about our wonderful organization. You would be working with board members, members of the community and the development of our presentation.

Grant Writing, Fundraising - Do you love writing grants? Research? Help planning fund-raising events? This could be the spot for you!

Last, But Certainly Not Least - there is always volunteering at the twice-monthly clinics, which is so important. Do you have a few hours to spend on a Sunday to keep our clinics running smoothly and be part of what this organization is all about? Try it! You might just like it.

Save the Pets  (541) 683-7387

Off-site adoption events:  Save the Pets holds weekly adoption events and are always looking for reliable people to help staff them.  No technical training is needed and no set amount of hours of volunteering is required, however a volunteer application would need to be filled out prior to volunteering. Contact: Lori Smith, Save the Pets, President at savethepetseugene@gmail.com.

Foster program:  The current foster program ORFAN, a division of Save the Pets, is always looking for new foster homes for cats and dogs. We could use volunteers to perform home-checks and maintain contact with the foster families and any needs or concerns they might have.  Fosters are generally brought to Save the Pets off-site adoption days and in some cases we need volunteers to help with the transporting of the animals as well.  Contact: Bev Jorgensen, ORFAN, President at bev@orfancats.org or Lori Smith, Save the Pets, President at savethepetseugene@gmail.com.

Fundraising and special events:  Save the Pets plans to initiate a capital campaign to open an animal adoption center.  We are looking for motivated people to solicit for donations, seek out potential sponsors for events and to creatively come up with new innovative ideas for fundraising events.  Please contact: Cherie Cahill, ORFAN, Vice President at cherie@orfancats.org  or Lori Smith, Save the Pets, President at savethepetseugene@gmail.com.

Other volunteer opportunities include Public Relations and helping the community with unwanted animals. Save the Pets gets several calls daily asking for help with either re-homing their animals or help in keeping them.  We would like to offer more services to the community, therefore need additional help in keeping up on calls and emails in this area.
